Let’s talk about 8 of the essential oils that we can use to beef up our immune system.

Here’s why that’s important.  For the last 50 years we’ve over-used anti-biotics to the point that even a minor surgery in the hospital can be lethal because the anti-biotics we’re given no longer work in stopping infections like Staph, UTI’s and pneumonia.

As a result, the policy is to get you in and out of the hospital as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, the medical community is beginning to recognize that there are natural alternatives to the anti-bioticsthat are being used.  And one of those naturalalternatives is essential oils.

But WHY essential oils?

Well… research has proven that because essential oils have such a complex chemistry, it’s almost impossible for viruses and bacteria to mutate and become resistant to them.  And that’s good news for us!

When you diffuse or sniff an essential oil, the oil molecules reach every cell in the body in about 21 minutes.  And when you apply them topically… they’re in the blood stream, working, in about 2 minutes.

When you ingest them, the process is slower because they go thru the digestive system just like our food does.  But, there are times, when taking them internally can be helpful.

If you feel like you’re coming down with something, alternate the oils you have on hand and then order the other ones when you can.

The key is to get them in your body the best and fastest way possible, so don’t go more than 3 hours at a time without either inhaling or applying them to boost your immune system.

On days that are cold or rainy, TAKE MORE… diffuse more.

If you’re going to be spending time around other people…TAKE MORE… diffuse more.

On days that you eat a lot of sugar…1 Tbl of sugar depresses your immune system for 1 ½ hours…TAKE MORE… diffuse more.

You’re probably getting the picture… be proactive in using essential oils as a preventive measure and don’t wait until you’re sick with a cold or the flu or whatever else, to start fighting it off.

Here are the 8 immune boosting oils and their benefits.

The first oil is an oil in the Premium Starter Kit…  Frankincense.

Frankincense is made from the resin of the Boswellia tree which typically grows in the dry, mountain regions of India, Africa and the Middle East.

It’s an immune system STIMULANT.

Frankincense  works by increasing white blood cells… which revs the engine of your immune system.  It also helps to regulate our mood,  appetite,  sex-drive, and  energy levels.

If  you have asthma, or problems with respiratory infections, then Frankincense is an oil you need to keep in your home.

It  can be diffused or inhaled, applied up and down your spine and on the bottom of your feet or taken in capsule form

The  #2 oil is Thieves Oil, which is also in the Premium Starter Kit.

Thieves Oil is a blend of  5 essentials oils… all of which are antiviral, anti-septic, and anti-bacterial.  It’s probably the best selling of the Young Living immune systems oils.

It’s great for getting rid of cold sores, sore throats, Gingivitis, the flu or bronchitis.

Weber State University did a study on Thieves oil and found that after 10 minutes of being diffused in the room… there was an 96% reduction in the air-borne bacteria.  It’s so powerful at killing bacteria and viruses, that Young Living has a whole line of just Thieves products.

If you’re dealing with mold problems, or have a family member dealing with a staph infection…diffuse Thieves  3 or 4 times a day.

If you’re  around someone who’s sick or coughing…  put  2 drops on the bottom of your feet  before you go to bed.

You can even make a Thieves tea… add a couple of drops to some warm water along with a little honey… it tastes great and it really does boost immunity.

The 3rd oil is more like a “category” – Citrus Oils… which includes any of the individual citrus oils… and also Citrus Fresh… which is a Young Living Blend.

Just like Frankincense,  citrus  oils increase white blood-cell count.  A bottle of Lemon and Citrus Fresh are included in the Premium Starter Kit.
Just smelling these oils lifts our spirits and makes us feel better.

As a matter of fact, MIE University School of Medicine in Japan did a study in 1995 and found that  just breathing citrus fragrances can boost your body’s immune system, and can also reduce depression.

Citrus oils can be used to fight  urinary  track infections,  reduce kidney stones, gallbladder problems, and even aid in weight loss.

They can be diffused or diluted and taken internally.   Just add a couple of drop  to your  water, tea or coffee… or  carry a bottle with you and sniff it from time to time.

The 4th Immune boosting oil is Tea Tree.

This oil  is derived from the leaves of the tea tree, which is native to Queensland Australia.

Like Frankincense, Tea Tree stimulates and revs up the IMMUNE SYSTEM.

It’s a favorite for fighting sinus infections, candida, acne, ringworm, and even scraped knees.

When you’re  not  feeling up to par… run a tub of really warm water, add a few drops of tea tree and a cup of Epsom Salts and just relaxand breathe it in.

You can also diffuse it or apply it topically to wherever your “hurt” is.

I’ve never had any problem putting it directly on my skin, but if you have sensitive skin, mix it with some coconut oil or another carrier oil.

The  5th Immune Boosting oil is… Clove,

Clove isn’t as well-known as some of the other oils, but it’s one of my favorites.  It’s in Thieves Oil, but it can definitely stand on its own for health benefits!

Cloves are the flower buds of  the clove trees that grow in Indonesia.

I was 8 years old when I had my first exposure to essential oils… my Grandmother used Clove oil to stop my Uncle Ray’s toothache.

I didn’t know anything about the health benefits of those little bags and bottles of “smelly stuff” Granny had in her “medicine bag” and I certainly didn’t know how essential oils would become such an important part of my life.  To this day, when I smell clove, I think of that oil Granny used.

Clove oil has the highest  “antioxidant testing marker  of food”  or ORAC rating of any of the essential oils.

Blueberries, for example, have an ORAC rating of 2,400.  Ningxia Red, our Young Living immune system essential oil drink, has an ORAC rating of 30,000.

But  clove has an ORAC rating of over 1 million…. so there’s nothing even comparable to clove oil as far as supplying antioxidants to our body.

It’s a super powerful oil if you’re dealing with ulcers, gastintestional parasites – worms, sinus or lung infections, arthritis, or  blood sugar issues.

Diffusing clove oil is not only good for your immune system… but  it  smells good and when you add a couple of drops of orange or cinnamon bark oil, it reminds me of fall.

Clove oil is a “hot oil”… that needs to be diluted with a carrier oil before you put it directly on your skin or ingest it.

You can cook with it… I use it and nutmeg oil in my Pumpkin Bread recipe.   You can add it and some Epsom Salts to your bathwater.

You can combine a few drops with a carrier oil and rub it on the back of your neck and up and down your spine.  You can take it internally in capsules or mixed with juice.

I’m pre-diabetic and I add clove oil to my Young Living Ningxia Red Juice along with Cinnamon Bark, and it has helped bring my A1C level back down to normal range.

Our next oil… Immu-power

Immu-power is a blend of 9 oils that  help the body regrow and repair damaged white blood cells… our immune cells.

One of the oils… Oregano… was studied by the USDA in 2014 and was determined to be a natural anti-biotic.  Another oil… Mountain Savory is used to treat HIV/Aids, lumbago and scoliosis.  A third oil… Dorado Azul is being used in cancer studies.

If you, or someone you know, deals with a lot of infections or has  an auto-immune disease … get  them a bottle of Immu-power.  .

It can be diffused… or you can add a couple of drops to your bathwater and soak for a while.   Or, mix 2-3 drops with coconut oil and rub it up and down your spine and on the bottom of your feet before you go to bed.

Immu-power has a child proof lid and is definitely a “hot oil”, so it has to be mixed with a carrier oil and PLEASE… don’t even think about ingesting it.

Immu-power is a POWERFUL immune booster.

The 7th oil… Longevity

Longevity is  a blend of 4 immune boosting oils  that you want to take every day.   We all know  that prevention is much better than cure and that’s where Longevity comes in.

It PROTECTS… DHA levels in the body… which are critical for  healthy brain function and cardiovascular health.

Longevity also  promotes healthy cell regeneration, supports liver function, increased immune function and strengthens the nervous system.

It can be taken internally, applied topically, or diffused and is available as a capsule and also as an oil.

I diffuse the oil and  take a capsule every day.   I also apply a drop to my wrists and up and down my spine before going to bed.

Ok, we’re down to the last of our 8 immune boosting oils.  It’s another oil that’s not very well known…Exodus II.

Exodus II is a blend of 8 essential oils that some Researchers believe are the same  aromatics that Aaron, the brother of Moses used to protect the Israelites from the plague.

It actually has olive oil in it, which is a fatty oil not an essential oil. But real extra virgin olive oil contains huge amounts of anti-oxidants which reduces the stress that causes our immune systems to not function at 100%.

All of the oils in Exodus II have high levels of immune-stimulating compounds.

Cassia prevents infections.   Cinnamon Bark, works against viruses and helps regulate blood sugar.    Calamus is good for gastrointestinal problems.    Vetiver helps with arthritis issues.    And Northern Lights Black Spruce helps with back problems like lumbago and sciatica.

Exodus II is another “hot oil” with a childproof lid.  It cannot be ingested… but it can be diffused or mixed  with a carrier oil and applied  along your spine or on the bottom of your feet.

That’s it… these are the  8 Young Living immune boosting essential oils that I personally take and recommend.
